Workers Compensation Information
While dealing with work related injuries is difficult enough, it can be worse if the injured workers and their family have to worry about receiving benefits to cover medical expenses and lost wages.
They may not even know about deadlines and miss them, which can delay or cancel benefits.
The injured worker may also be denied continued coverage or told by their employer and the insurance company that there is no more coverage. A demand can even be made that they return to work when it is physically impossible to do so at the time of the request, or maybe ever.
Issues such as these are important and must be addressed for the worker to receive the benefits he or she deserves. Be sure you know about deadlines and meet them. If your claim is denied, you can appeal the denial and even sue to get the benefits you deserve. If you are required to go back to work before you have healed, you can fight that too, or at least have your duties altered so that you can recover.
If you feel like your workers compensation claim is not being handled well, you can ask a lawyer to look over your files and see if you have a case that can be fought. Be sure to keep all of your records, including notes on any communication, and official documents about the workers compensation claim for discussion with your attorney.
