Dawson
Maria H. Dawson brings 25 years of experience as a practicing registered nurse to each medical negligence case she undertakes. She worked as a staff nurse and education specialist in the Washington and Baltimore area in hospital emergency departments and critical care units. Ms. Dawson instructed physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers in advance cardiac life support and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, triage and first responder courses.
Ms. Dawson became licensed as a registered nurse in 1979. Before pursuing her legal career, Ms. Dawson was active in the District of Columbia Nurses Association, the Emergency Nurses Association and served as an officer for the District of Columbia Emergency Nurses Association. This is Ms. Dawson's first position after receiving her law degree from the University of Baltimore.
In addition, Ms. Dawson is a member of several professional associations, including The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, Chesapeake Nurse Attorney Association, American Bar Association, Maryland Bar Association, the Anne Arundel Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Maryland Trial Lawyer Association. Ms. Dawson lives in West River Maryland with her husband and three children.
